Lawson are a group of four, Joel, Adam, Andy and Ryan, signed to Polydor.
Joel and Ryan were already friends from home, Adam messaged Andy to meet up with the idea of putting a band together, Andy knew Ryan through the London music scene and ta da Lawson were formed.
Joel is from Nottingham - (my hometown, therefore he is immediately awesome), Ryan is from Sheffield, Adam from Brighton and Andy is from Liverpool.
All four members play instuments - reason 1 why they are awesome, (reason 2 for Joel). They can flawlessly cover an Ed Sheeran song - reason 2 (reason 3 for Joel - you get the drill...). The majority of people will tell you that no-one should Ever cover an Ed Sheeran song because it just doesn't work well and can be easily ruined, but Lawson have done the almost impossible task of performing their cover of A-Team absolutely flawlessly.
Lawson have gained a large following of loyal fans and are beginning to really make a name for themselves. They have just set off on a radio tour around the UK following the release of their first Official Music Video - When She Was Mine , the single will be released 27th May (Go Pre-order it's amazing, heres the links -

The video has already had over 450,000 views within just under two weeks and the audio only video gained 100,000 views quickly. I'll do a quick When She Was Mine review -
- It is ridiculously amazing for a first video - the quality, the large amount of different sets.
- Usually I get a little bit .. eugh it's a music video and they have all the instruments etc... but it actually worked really well, and I liked how there were different settings for the band performances.
- The colours used match the tone of the song.
- Andy is an A* actor (I see a Bafta coming your way).
- Why is everyone wearing a jacket in the scene with the city background apart from Joel....
- The faces pulled are just A* as well.
Their first video 'When She Was Mine' was released 11 Apr 2012.
I recently met them whilst they were on their Radio tour, and they're absolutely lovely, I expected them to be from their videos, had a picture and gave them some messages from fans that couldn't make it. Ryan, Joel and Andy are so tall, they had to bend down a lot in order to fit in the picture with us, but Kim was taller than Adam, I however was still shorter...
Their fans are also lovely, the original name is 'geese' but you'll find them sometimes being referred to as 'Lawsonites', personally they should stick with geese. Lawson's fanbase is most definitely one to be proud to be a part of, big up the Lawson fandom.
They have a couple of acoustic versions of their songs on their youtube, including Standing in the dark, 'Red Sky' is also available as a free download on their facebook.
Lawson have supported The Wanted for both the Behind Bars tour and The Code, which made me and many of their fans happy bunnys. At The Code a large amount of the crowd were stood up throughout Lawson's set and participating.
Overall, if you haven't seen Lawson live or even heard one of their songs then you should.
